Athletics, Clubs & Student Leadership

At St. Mary’s, student life is about more than academics — it’s a vibrant community where every child can grow, connect, and explore their passions. From leadership opportunities to creative clubs and enrichment activities, students are encouraged to discover their strengths, take initiative, and make a positive impact on campus and beyond.
Leadership & Service Opportunities
Our students are empowered to lead with confidence and serve with heart. Fifth graders, in particular, take on special “capstone” roles that influence daily life and spiritual life at school, while leadership opportunities are available for all grade levels. These experiences include:
- Servant Leadership: Serving on Safety Patrol, assisting younger students, and supporting carpool routines
- Chapel Leadership: Reading scripture and leading prayers
- Community Care: Supporting the Prayer Blanket Ministry
- Celebratory Helpers: Assisting with traditions such as Las Posadas, St. Nicholas Day, and St. Lucia Day
- Flag Care: Taking responsibility for raising, lowering, and maintaining school flags.
Other leadership roles across grade levels give students the chance to develop responsibility, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging:
- Acolytes: Leading prayers and carrying banners, crosses, or torches during Chapel services
- Broadcast Team: Fourth and Fifth graders can participate in Broadcast Club, Filming & editing our school-wide announcements.
These roles help students grow in confidence, character, and community-mindedness — qualities that stay with them far beyond their time at St. Mary’s.
Spring 2026 Clubs
St. Mary’s Episcopal School offers a broad variety of after-school clubs for students in Pre-K through 5th grade. These clubs rotate through four sessions throughout the year, and the offerings include creative, athletic, academic, and performance-based activities.
Athletics

St. Mary's Athletics runs through i9 Sports. We are happy to offer our students the opportunity to play together, build school spirit, and show St. Mary’s pride through sports like Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football, and Volleyball. Teams are co-ed, and coached by St. Mary's parent volunteers.
