Beyond the Classroom

Your child can come early and stay late!

St. Mary’s Episcopal School’s Beyond the Classroom "BTC" program offers AM, PM and Extended Care for families. Students can register for the semester, or pay a daily drop-in rate. Before and after care is available for all ages - Early Threes, Preschool, Pre-K, and K-5. 

Our BTC program is run by former SMES 4th grade teacher, Bill Krywicki. Mr. Krywicki brings with him twenty-five years of experience in education, a great love for learning through play, and an even greater love of our students.

Student Care Offerings

Before School Care

Morning BTC is from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. in Taylor Hall or playground.

Entrance is through the front door with a designated BTC code.

Students may enroll for the semester for as many days per week as are needed, or pay a drop-in rate. 

Rates Per Semester:
1 Day    - $165
2 Days - $250
3 Days - $330
4 Days - $415
5 Days - $500

Drop-In Rate: $10/day

Extended Hour (Preschool & Pre-K)

Extended hour is a program offered for Preschool and Pre-K students that extends their day from 2:15 to 3:15. Extended Hour students are cared for by classroom Teaching Assistants. Students hear a story, learn about music, and have a movie day, free time and playground exploration before 3:15 carpool. 

Students may enroll for the semester for as many days per week as are needed, or pay a drop-in rate. 

Rates Per Semester:
1 Day    - $165
2 Days - $250
3 Days - $330
4 Days - $415
5 Days - $500

Drop-In Rate: $10/day

After School Care

Afternoon BTC is from 3:15 to 6:00 p.m. Students enjoy our playground, play in Taylor Hall and other rooms on campus.  Older students have the opportunity to work on homework at this time.

Pick up is through the front lobby doors with a designated BTC code.

Late pick-up penalty is $10.00 a minute.

Students may enroll for the semester for as many days per week as are needed, or pay a drop-in rate. 

Rates Per Semester:
1 Day    - $300
2 Days - $500
3 Days - $660
4 Days - $850
5 Days - $1,050

Drop-In Rate: $25/day

Conference Care

St. Mary's does not hold class on the Friday of parent/teacher conference weeks. On these days, BTC is offered from 7:15 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. 

If a student is regularly enrolled in BTC on Fridays, there is no additional charge for all-day BTC. Open registration with a $75 free is offered for students not regularly enrolled in BTC on Fridays. 

Parents may also drop off their children just for their parent/teacher conference time. The conference drop-in rate is $10.

Professional Development Days

St. Mary's holds two professional development days for our faculty and staff each year - the Tuesday after Labor Day (September) and the Tuesday after President's Day (February). 

If a student is regularly enrolled in BTC on Tuesdays, there is no additional charge for all-day BTC. Open registration with a $75 free is offered for students not regularly enrolled in BTC on Tuesdays.
