What are the class sizes at St. Mary’s School?

The maximum class size at St. Mary’s School is 16 students in preschool, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten and 18 students in first through fifth grade.

What is the student-to-teacher ratio at St. Mary’s School?

The student-to-teacher ratios for preschool – fifth grade are as follows:

            Preschool – 8 to 1

            Pre-Kindergarten – 10 to 1

            Kindergarten – 12 to 1

            First Grade – 14 to 1

            Second to Fifth Grade – 18 to 1

For which grades do you accept applications?

St. Mary’s School welcomes applications from qualified students at all grade levels preschool through 5th grade.

When should I begin the application process?

Online applications will be accepted beginning late-October for the 2017-2018 school year. Applications for the current year will be accepted if space is available in the particular grade level. As part of our effort to connect with families early in their school search, we encourage parents to register their child (even as an infant or toddler) in the St. Mary’s Stepping Stones program to guarantee a place for your child when he/she reaches preschool age. Please contact the admissions office for more information.

Are there age requirements for entrance into the Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten programs?

Yes, preschool applicants must be three on or before September 1, pre-kindergarten applicants must be four on or before September 1 and kindergarten applicants must be five on or before September 1.

Are there opportunities to tour the campus?

There are two Visitor Days offered and one Open House on the following days/times. Alternatively, you may call the admissions office and schedule a personal tour.

Open House: October 25, 2016 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Open House: January 31, 2017 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Open House: March 7, 2017 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Does St. Mary’s School award financial aid?

Need-based financial assistance is available on a limited basis for students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade with application to be made by March 15 through FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. Also, qualifying parents with three or more children attending St. Mary’s may apply for a multiple student discount. In addition, members of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church may qualify for assistance.

How and when will I be notified if my child has been accepted?

Following a complete review of the applicant and entrance testing, decisions are typically made within 48 hours. In addition, students applying to grade 1st – 5h grade will need to schedule a shadow day. Decision letters will be mailed.
